About Papelería Society
Some obsessions start early.
Mine began in a small papelería tucked around the corner from my grandmother's house in Mexico, where I spent my summers as a kid. Every year, my parents would send my sister and me with a little spending money — enough for food, a few treats, whatever caught our eye.
What caught mine, at nine years old, was stationery.
I became a regular. The shop owner would laugh every time she saw me push open the door: this tiny kid, completely serious, deliberating over letter paper and pens and carbon copy receipt books like she had real business to conduct. Which, eventually, she did. I went home that summer with an electric adding machine, a collection of pens, and the crown jewel of my haul: a colorful, clear electric stapler by Swingline.
Did I have anything to staple? No. Did I invent a fake business so I could put it all to use? Absolutely.
That stapler still sits on my desk today — a reminder that some things just find you early and never let go.
Papelería Society exists for everyone who has ever bought a notebook they didn’t need, a pen they couldn’t resist, or a planner they were certain would change their life. It’s a shop built by a lifelong stationery lover, filled with the kinds of things that make you want to slow down, sit at your desk, and put pen to paper.
Welcome to my shop!
